Corona Virus

The Star Valley Quilt Trail is scheduled for August 20 – 21 of this year. We want to assure you we are monitoring all the different aspects of the evolving COVID-19 (corona virus) and how it may affect the Quilt Trail. We will keep you updated as we get closer to our quilt show.  We will monitor the State of Wyoming’s Health Department and our own Star Valley Health, hospital, and take appropriate steps.  Of course we hope not to postpone or cancel the show. On a positive note; quilting has not been canceled! Keep sewing and finish up those quilts!  Wash your hands! Stay healthy!

“Bob Ross” Cherrywood Challenge 2019

We are thrilled to announce an exhibit of 15 Bob Ross quilts!

What can you create with just five color? Every year Cherrywood Hand Dyed Fabrics challenges artists to create a unique piece of art with a limited color palette. Given simple rules, they were encouraged to push themselves creatively to design an original fiber art piece. In 2019 artists took inspiration from the art and legacy of the late Bob Ross, creator of Public Television’s “The Joy of Painting.”

The cohesive colors, size, theme and texture of Cherrywood make the exhibit one of a kind. There were no limits on technique, so the viewer will see incredible manipulations of fabric in these 20-inch quilts. The collection is stunning and we hope you can appreciate the time and artistry that went into their creation! Cherrywood is proud of this beautiful textile tribute to an iconic man who continues to bring joy to a new generation.

“We don’t make mistakes, just happy, little accidents.”  – Bob Ross

“The secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it.  Anything that you believe you can do strong enough, you can do.  Anything.  As long as you believe.” – Bob Ross
